Behind the Spirit

I grew up playing sports and loving my school — the Friday night lights, the pep rallies, and the small-town camaraderie that brought everyone together. Sports were at the heart of my childhood.

When I had children of my own, both of them played sports growing up, and sitting in the stands instead of being on the court or field myself was an adjustment — but one I grew to love. Watching them develop skills, confidence, and friendships that will last a lifetime became one of my greatest joys.

As they got older and headed off to college, we shifted from players to fans. Experiencing sports at the collegiate level together was so much fun and gave us a whole new perspective. To this day, talking sports — whether high school, college, or professional — is one of our favorite family conversations.

I’ve also been a lifelong collector of basketball cards, a hobby that’s become a family tradition and will be passed down for generations. I love the game, I love the spirit of competition, and I love how sports connect people.

That love of school pride is what inspired me to create Spirit Social — a place where fans, students, and alumni can show their spirit in style. From custom scarves to unique accessories, my goal is to help you celebrate your team, your school, and your community with pieces that make every game day a little more special.
